Stunning academic results

30 August 2018

Yet again, IIL’s Class of 2018 achieved excellent IB Diploma results.

The average score this year was 35.5 points – significantly higher than the worldwide average of 29 points.

23% achieved 40 points or above (the world average is 10%) and 28% achieved over 38 points (the world average is 17%). One candidate was awarded 44/45, which is achieved by just 0.8% of candidates worldwide!

Our IB students have now set off on the next stage in the journey of lifelong learning. They have been accepted at notable educational institutes such as EPFL, Oxford, Imperial College, St Andrews, Warwick, Chicago, McGill, Toronto and Amsterdam universities.

Our French baccalaureate students did just as brilliantly. 68% passed their baccalaureate exam with « Mention Très bien » or « Mention Bien » (best score to date). 96% scored an overall average of more than 12/20.

They have been accepted at institutions of higher education such as “EPFL”, EHL, Geneva University (Medicine, Law, International Relations, etc..), “Science Po, “Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Ecoles” Berthollet in Annecy, Bellevue in Lyon, Faidherbe in Lille, Descartes University and Diderot University in Paris, King’s College London to study Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, University College London, Kent University to study Computer Science, Sheffield University to study Aerospace Engineering, McGill Montréal, etc.

The lower Secondary French Section students who sat their Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) were just as impressive as their older counterparts. All of them passed with distinctions: with 68% of our students receiving the grade Mention Bien or Très Bien.

IIL also presented candidates for International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations. The rigorous assessments are set and graded by the Cambridge Assessment International Education exam board. Over 80% of all grades obtained by our students were either A *, A or B.

We would like to thank all the teaching staff for their hard work preparing the students for their diploma and wish our graduates all the best for the future.
