Primary Netball Competition at IIL – Wednesday 15th October 201516 October 2015
On a cold but fortunately dry Wednesday afternoon, IIL co hosted a beginners netball tournament with The Geneva English School.
Five international School from Geneva to Lausanne came to IIL to play. This event has become an annual event aimed at introducing young netballers to competitive play.
There were two categories. The first was for the 6 – 8 year olds, this was an entertaining tournament for all those watching. The exciting and enjoyment of the girls was palatable, goals were few and far between, but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of every player and parent supporter.
The second category was for 9 – 10 year olds. The enthusiasm and standard of play was high, with a mix of beginners and slightly more experienced players playing together. The spirit of team work and fun was clearly visible throughout all the participating teams. IIL won the cup, much to the excitement of the players as this was the first of, hopefully, many more.
A big thank you to all the parent helpers, who kept time and score, made and then sold cakes. The event would not have been such a success without your help.
