Champion and IB student at IIL

Last October, rowers from across the African continent converged in Tunisia for the 2015 African Rowing Championship.

On that occasion, our IB student Nadia Negm (Year 13), representing Egypt and her Club in Geneva, obtained the silver medal in the U-19 junior women’s single scull. Nadia had also obtained the silver medal last year during the 2014 championship held in Algeria.

Asked about her performance, Nadia said she felt honoured to have been able to give a silver medal to both her country and her Club in Geneva.

Regarding her plans, Nadia is now thinking about the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We wish her the greatest success, as she goes for gold.
