Signing of a Framework Agreement between the AEFE and the GESBF
June 1, 2025Last May, the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) and the Group of Swiss Schools Preparing for the French Baccalaureat (GESBF) signed a framework agreement in the presence of Ms. Marion Paradas, Ambassador of France to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, Mr. Clément Leclerc, Consul General of France in Geneva, the Director General of the AEFE, Ms. Claudia Scherer-Effosse, and the President of the GESBF, Mr. Emmanuel Coigny.
Thanks to this agreement, the 10 member institutions of the GESBF, including the Institut International de Lancy, will be able to engage in the process of accreditation for their première and terminale levels. As a result, they will join, starting in the 2026 academic year, this unique global network of French education abroad, made up of 600 other institutions serving nearly 400,000 students.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to promoting common values and developing ambitious educational projects. This Franco-Swiss educational cooperation promises exciting opportunities for the students of the Institut International de Lancy.
The Group of Swiss Schools Preparing for the French Baccalaureat (GESBF) was founded in 1995. A member of the Swiss Federation of Private Schools (FSEP), it currently represents 10 independent institutions. Its mission is to ensure the continuity of preparation for the French Baccalaureat and to provide the necessary resources to achieve this goal. The GESBF also represents its members in promoting and ensuring the recognition of the French Baccalaureat in Switzerland.
