Team Building Outings

Back
In our international school, three-day team building outings help students of the same age to get to know each other at the start of the school year. Every year, all the classes in the secondary school—which represents about 500 students—go on team building trips in the first few weeks of school.
  • Description
English and French Secondary course students in equivalent classes take part in the outings in groups of  50 to 150, depending on the size of the year group.

As an alternative to the beginning of year outings, Year 9 and 4e students take part in a week-long residential in the winter when ski-ing and snow sports are at the top of the list of activities. Year 8 and 5e students benefit from a second outing in June : they go to a sailing school (Les Glénans).

Most group building outings take place in mountain resorts in nearby France or Switzerland. In our private school, the staff work in close partnership with experienced local monitors to guide students in a variety of challenging outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, orienteering, archery, canyoning, rafting, paragliding, mountain biking, downhill cycling, tree trekking, and to encourage team building. Activities are chosen to be age-appropriate and specifically geared to the participants in each group.

In addition to outdoor activities, students learn about the mountain environment and its potential dangers, and about local flora and fauna.

The international school also organises field trips, as well as cultural and language trips to European cities such as Berlin and Madrid.
