In partnership with the academic section heads, the school life office, known as the Vie Scolaire, coordinates and oversees student life and well-being on campus of our international school in Geneva, outside the classroom.

The Vie Scolaire has a host of responsibilities to ensure the smooth-running of the school day. A team of supervisors and monitors is on hand at all times during recess and over the lunchtime period, as well as during study hall between 3:20 pm  and 4:20 pm for Primary children (petite étude or garderie) and from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm (grande étude), and is in charge of Wednesday afternoon supervision. The office also manages student meal-plan registration (hot lunch, packed-lunch or lunch out) and is the direct point of contact for parents for all lunch-related issues.

Vie Scolaire assistants collect younger children from the school bus in the morning and accompany them to the buses for the home run in the afternoon.

During school hours, the Vie Scolaire provides a direct channel of communication for parents on issues related to absence and late arrival and also oversees certain disciplinary measures such as detention.

For the benefit of working parents, after-school supervision is available every afternoon until 6:00 pm (garderie, petite and grande étude) and on Wednesday afternoons for students of all ages (from Maternelle to Primaire). During holidays periods in October, February, at Easter and over several weeks at the beginning and end of the summer, children can be registered for day care and camps (8:00 am - 5:00 pm)

The Vie Scolaire supervisors and monitors make it a priority to get to know each and every student at IIL so they can provide individual support and assistance throughout the day.
