To allow those living further afield, out of the immediate vicinity of Grand-Lancy, to take advantage of the exceptional offers at our international school, a daily school bus service in the morning and afternoon caters for students of all ages.

Our private school is located in Grand-Lancy, a calm, leafy suburb close to the centre of Geneva. The campus is easily accessible by public transport and several buses and trams stop within a few hundred metres of the school gates. Access to the motorway is only a few minutes away.

In addition, over 500 students use the IIL bus service every day. School buses cover the Canton of Geneva, neighbouring France and part of the Canton of Vaud (see details about the lines in conditions and fees).

Prior to the beginning of the school year, an itinerary is set up for each of the 24 mini-buses taking into consideration student needs and the daily school timetable. Morning pick-up times vary depending on the location of students' homes and are calculated to ensure arrival at school between 7:45 and 8:10 am.

Afternoon buses leave the international school at 4:30 pm (except on Wednesdays). Lessons end at 3:20 for most students so those who take the school bus home must enroll for supervised study (petite étude) from 3:20 pm to 4:20 pm. Alternatively, they can sign up for one of the many extra-curricular activities while they wait for the departure of the buses.

On Wednesdays, classes end at 11h40 for Nursery and Primary students. Taking into account that Lower Secondary lessons end at 12:40 pm, return buses leave at 12:45 am. Those enrolled for the Wednesday bus have the option of a) attending supervised study from 11:40 am to 12:35 am (without lunch), or b) having lunch at school before taking the bus home.

On Wednesday afternoons at 4:20 pm, a reduced bus service is available upon request (certain conditions apply).

To ensure the safety of younger children up to 5 years old, classroom assistants or Vie Scolaire assistants accompany them to and from their buses in the morning and afternoon.

During the day, the IIL bus fleet is called upon to drive Secondary students to and from off-campus sports facilities and to take children on cultural visits, field trips or other outings.

Transport is provided by IIL vehicles and staff, as well as by external operators.
