French as a Foreign Language

Back
French as a Foreign Language (FLE) is taught in the English section at all levels for students of all ages, from Reception to IB.
  • Description
A carefully streamed approach to learning throughout the fifteen year programme ensures that our students feel comfortable and confident in their language acquisition. The programme allows the students to study in the group which best corresponds to their continuing progress. Regular assessment throughout the programme ensures students learn according to their full potential. This progression fulfills the standards and requirements of the European Framework.

A collaborative approach optimises different styles of teaching and a variety of educational approaches. Shared teaching practices are encouraged to ensure the implementation of the most effective teaching methods at all levels and for all ages.

Sitting IGCSE and IB examinations

Our international school organises the Cambridge IGCSE and the IB qualifications  in such a way as to fulfill university admission requirements, for instance for UCAS applications (the central body for university applications in the UK). Students can study IGCSE French as a First Language and follow on with French Language and Literature as an IB options.

DELF certifications

In addition, our private school prepares students for DELF examinations during or out of school time. DELF certifications at Secondary level are acknowledged by universities.

Lastly, students in the French Section also benefit from specific lessons aimed at non-native speakers to ensure swifter integration and progress within the classroom.
