Teaching staff

Back
The Institut International de Lancy teaching teams are comprised of over 150 staff who together represent 20 nationalities. The average age of teachers is 42, a fact which in itself is indicative of the level of experience of the teaching staff in our private school.
  • Description
IIL teachers are recruited for their professional skills and for the degree of commitment to teaching and students. Their academic training is directly related to the discipline they teach and can include professional training in education such as PGCE, Bachelor and Master degrees or doctorate,  as well as teaching certifications such as the French CAPES and Agrégation.

Teachers develop their professional skills through in-house training, with partner schools and external training bodies, and as is becoming more frequent, on-line training programmes.

Teachers take an active part in the definition of academic policies. As an example, collaborative reflexion has led to the formulation of the Charter of Assessment which provides the guidelines for school assessment policies. Furthermore, the charter has been written in close partnership with teaching staff.

The Physical Education programme and foreign language programmes in French and English are coordinated within specific departments in order to draw on the expertise of trained teachers in these areas and to ensure an integrated approach throughout the school.

Parent-teacher meetings are held regularly throughout the year. In between meetings, members of the educational team can be contacted via email at any time. Tutors and form teachers are also key contacts for parents. Contact details can be found in the ENT (IIL Digital Work Environment).
